Applications Available for 3 Day Summer Institute for Youth Leadership

Calling all local high school students...come learn about philanthropy and become a grantmaker to help your community!

Do you know of a high school student who enjoys innovative education opportunities and likes to give back to their community? Applications are now available for the Foundation for MetroWest’s Summer Institute for Youth Leadership and Youth in Philanthropy programs!

Youth in Philanthropy offers a unique approach to learning the importance of philanthropy for the next generation. Not only does our well-developed curriculum teach students about the diverse needs in the MetroWest community, but the process also helps students develop 21st century skills including, critical thinking, public speaking, budgeting, case-making, and collaboration. A highlight of the program, YIP’s newly educated philanthropists become grant makers by giving back to local organizations providing a wide array of programming to benefit underserved youth in their own backyard. The Foundation currently offers 9 school and community-based programs, and has added the Summer Institute for Youth Leadership to provide year round opportunities to engage youth in philanthropy.

Since 1997, the Foundation for MetroWest’s Youth in Philanthropy program has been inspiring youth to give back and to truly become invested in the MetroWest community. Key to the future success of our region, we are proud to offer one of the largest youth philanthropy education programs in the country that has educated over 1,000 teens who have granted $800,000 to over 140 youth development organizations in our backyard.

Join us by sharing this great opportunity with any students, neighbors, friends or family who could benefit from participating in our YIP program in the coming year. Students living in MetroWest in 9th – 12th grade are eligible to apply. To apply now, click here. You can find more information about the Youth in Philanthropy program here or by emailing Jennifer Ubaldino at jubaldino@foundationformetrowest.org.
