Arlington Resident Pursues Republican State Committee Seat

The candidate is running to represent the 4th Middlesex District, which includes Lexington.

ARLINGTON, MA—An Arlington High School graduate who has been involved in local politics from a young age has announced his candidacy for the Massachusetts Republican State Committee.

Sean Harrington, Arlington’s Republican Town Committee Chairman, will be running to represent the 4th Middlesex District, which includes Arlington, Billerica, Burlington, Woburn, and Lexington (Precincts 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7.)

“I have and grown up in this district,” Harrington said in his announcement. “My experience working with the local Republican Committees and knowing the demographics of the district make me the best candidate to represent the 4th Middlesex in the Republican State Committee.”

Harrington has been endorsed by the incumbent State Committee members Helen Hatch and Tony Ventresca, as well as State Representative Marc Lombardo.

Harrington originally made his mark on local politics as a student at Arlington High School during discussions with the Arlington School Committee to implement a voluntary recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance in every public school in Arlington and to get a flag in every classroom in Arlington High, according to the announcement.

Harrington garnered attention by national media outlets including ABC’s The View, Fox News and the Glenn Beck Show. The election for the seat will be held on Mar. 1 on the Presidential Primary Ballot.
