Auditions for The Master Singers of Lexington

This select chorus invites experienced singers to audition for its 2014 - 2015 season on Tuesday Sept. 2 from 7 - 9 pm and by appointment.

The Master Singers of Lexington is an outstanding 30-voice chamber chorus that provides an exceptional musical experience in a suburban location minutes from Routes 2, 3 and 128. Under the leadership of Adam Grossman, the chorus is noted for inventive programming and compelling performances. Dedicated singers from communities throughout Greater Boston come together to create this highly acclaimed ensemble.

To celebrate Adam Grossman’s 20th year, the 2014-15 season includes newly commissioned pieces by a six local composers, as well as works by Bach, Barber, Debussy, Mendelssohn, Pinkham, Pachelbel and others. The annual Pops concert features works by Berlin, Herman, Loesser, Porter, P.D.Q. Bach and others. Concerts are performed with chamber orchestra, guest artists, piano, and a cappella. Soloists are typically drawn from the membership.

Auditions include vocalizing, performing a prepared piece, and sight reading. Piano accompanist will be provided. For an appointment, email msingers@themastersingers.org or call Sue at (781) 863-8245 before 10 pm.

Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights, 7:30-10:00 pm, at First Parish Church, 7 Harrington Road, on the Battle Green in Lexington Center, which is handicap- accessible and offers ample free parking.
