An Endorsement Money Can't Buy - Mara Dolan for State Senate

I am writing not only as a voter but also as the daughter of Mara Dolan. My mother is running a tough race against 4 male opponents. As it is now there are only 11 women out of 40 in the Massachusetts State Senate. In such a progressive state it is discouraging to think about that number going down to 10.

After spending the last 22 years of my life with her, I can assure you that Mara is the candidate for the job. She is the strongest woman I have ever known. Her work as a public defender, social worker, single mom and 24-hour support system has given her the tools she needs to get the job done with regard to meeting the needs of her district.

I have seen my mom go through college and law school all while she was raising me. Never once did I feel neglected or that she wasn’t putting all of her energy into giving me the best childhood possible. She constantly put my needs before hers, which is what I know she will do for the district.

I am so proud of my mom for coming as far as she has and I know she has so much more to offer. She lives to serve the pubic and genuinely cares about the well-being of the district.  She has put her heart and soul into this campaign and dedicated every waking moment to it. Not because she wants a title or an ego-boost but because she wants the living standards of the people in the third district of Massachusetts to improve as well as every district in Massachusetts.

I am voting for Mara Dolan on Thursday, September 6 because she is the best candidate for the position (and it will insure that those home-cooked meals keep coming).  I hope you will join me in making her the State Senator for the third Middlesex district of Massachusetts because I know it won’t be regretted.
