Gallery 529 to host fundraiser for MSPCA - Nevins Farm with its juried show "Best Friends"

Gallery 529 of Littleton is gearing up for its next juried art show to benefit the MSPCA –Nevins Farm. The theme of the show is “Best Friends.” Dr. Judith Herman, a veterinarian from Augusta Maine, who specializes in homeopathic medicine for animals, and is an accomplished artist, and has served as a juror for the acclaimed Harlow Gallery of Maine, will serve as a juror for this show. To see some of Dr. Herman’s wonderful artwork, check out her website.
According to Gallery Executive Director Virginia Wood, “Last year we did a fundraiser for the Nevins Farm that was as much fun as it was successful. We have 30 member artists in our cooperative and they glazed ceramic pet bowls, made by the potters in our group, that we then sold, the proceeds going to the Farm. We are doing that again this year, but have added in the juried art show. A percentage of the entry fees and sales will also benefit the farm.”
Nevins Farm, in Methuen, is a multi- service organization, operated by the MSPCA. At the Farm, one can adopt practically any type of animal, from chickens to dogs, as well as attend programs offered in dog training and behavior. Many of our member artists have also adopted animals, and as part of this effort to promote the good work of the MSPCA, and Nevins Farm, our artists will be telling the stories of their adopted animals during December.
