Join Minuteman Community Education for Computer-aided Drafting and Design for students entering grades 7 - 10!
This class is a two-part course which involves two-dimensional and three-dimensional design. For the first two weeks, students will learn the basic uses of AutoCAD to in order draft simple floor plans to an existing house or for an imaginary one. Students will learn to draw walls, doors, stairs, and specific rooms that would inform a builder and client. For the second half, students will take floor(s) plans created from the first half to then model the house three-dimensionally. Students will use the software SketchUp to extrude shapes and apply material and color to give their original floor plan a clear and visual 3D representation of what their design looks like.
