Concord Reservoir Crash: State Trooper, Driver Suffer Minor Injuries

State Police responded to a vehicle that went off the road and crashed into the Concord Reservoir Thursday Night.

LEXINGTON, MA—One Massachusetts State Police Trooper was injured while responding to a vehicle that is overturned and in the waters of the Concord Reservoir.

State Police responded to the incident at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rte. 2 East to I-95 Southbound ramp in Lexington is closed. According to a WHDH report, the trooper was injured while trying to help the driver of a crashed car. The driver of the car suffered minor injuries. Both are expected to be okay.

The WHDH report also indicates that both the trooper and the driver of the vehicle are expected to be okay. Fox 25's Bill Sheerin reports that the vehicle landed in about waist-deep water.

WFXT reported that the driver was able to free himself from the front seat to the back seat and call 9-1-1 on his cell phone and wait for first responders.

WFXT also reports that the driver says he lost control after hitting a puddle. Police are still investigating the incident.
