Dangerous Cold for Lexington: -20 Wind Chill Values Thursday, Friday

A coating of snow is expected, too.

A dangerous cold snap will hit Lexington Thursday and Friday.

Wind chill values will plunge to as low as 20 degrees below zero, according to the National Weather Service, which issued a hazardous weather alert.

  • Wednesday night: Snow, with an accumulation of 1-3 inches. Low of 14 degrees.
  • Thursday: Snow, mainly before 5 p.m., with an accumulation of 1 inch. Wind chill values as low as -17. Wind gusts as high as 37 mph.
  • Friday: Partly sunny. Wind chill values as low as -19. Wind gusts as high as 29 mph.
