In two weeks we will perform our first-ever concert of piano
“novelty” pieces beloved in an earlier era coupled with novelty songs from many
generations. Dizzy Fingers – Piano Pyrotechnics and Delectable
Ditties brings together the witty and tricky piano pieces of Zez
Confrey and other leading composers of the style with popular novelty
songs. The more recognizable songs will include "Come On-a My
House" by Ross Bagdasarian and William Saroyan from The
Son, 1950, "Whistle While You Work" by Frank Churchill and Larry
More from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, 1937, and Irving
Berlin's "I Love A Piano" (1913). Featured performers
include Margaret Ulmer, Steve Sussman, Bradford Conner, pianos
with Cynthia Mork, Eric Bronner,Bradford Conner, Benjamin Sears,
vocals and Zack Chadwick, piccolo and Eli Newberger, tuba. Concerts
are Friday April 25 at 7:30 at the Follen Community Church, 755
Massachusetts Avenue in Lexington andSunday April 27 at 3:00 at the
Pickman Concert Hall of the Longy School of Music, 27 Garden Street in
