Internationally recognized as both preeminent pioneering philosopher of modern linguistics, and intellectual political activist of conscience and conviction, Dr. Noam Chomsky has long acted as a cognitive and political revolutionary. Chomsky's commentary on concepts of power, consumerism, inequity, justice, and U.S. foreign policy have made him one of the world's most quoted, controversial, and widely read intellectuals of modernity. Currently Institute Professor and professor emeritus of linguistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dr. Chomsky travels both nationally and internationally to speak at universities and take part in political forums. Employing his raw intellect and heartfelt instinct toward the service of his notions of justice and freedom, Chomsky has authored more than 150 titles including Understanding Power: The Indispensable Chomsky, Toward a New Cold War: Essays on the Current Crisis and How We Got There, The Essential Chomsky and Profit Over People: Neoliberalism & Global Order.
