Cary Memorial Library Presents Beth Murphy, Director of the Award Winning Documentary, Beyond Belief

On Sept.11,2001, Patti Quigley and Susan Retik's lives were changed beyond belief: both women lost their husbands in the terrorist attacks on that unforgettable day.

Eventually emerging from their shock and horror, Patti and Susan reached out---to the widows of Afghanistan, whose lives had also been devastated by terrorism. Over the course of the next two years, they dedicated themselves to raising money to assist and empower the Afghan widows.

Three years later,  Patti and Susan made the courageous journey to Afghanistan to meet the women that they were helping and to see firsthand the impact of their work. Beyond Belief, is the story of their journey, and their mission of  reconciliation, peace and hope.
