Concerto Concet

The Concerto Concert will feature both the Lexington High School Repertoire Orchestra and the Honors Orchestra.

The Repertoire Orchestra performance will include an arrangement ofthe Scherzo from Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, a lovely Fantasia by Richard Stephens and two movements from Fritz Velke's Suite for Strings.

The Honors Orchestra will perform with two soloists:  Junior Stephanie Atwood will perform Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D Major, and sophomore Thomas Wong will play viola on the Rhapsodie from Ernest Bloch's Suite Hébraique.  Thomas is the first violist to win the Concerto Competition.  The concluding piece of the concert will be the last movement of Dvorak's Symphony No. 8, conducted by Ben Ruesch, LHS '10.  This is the conclusion of a year-long conducting project for Ben.
