English At Large Tutor Training

In Massachusetts alone, 20% of the adult population cannot speak, read, or write basic English. Yet these literacy skills are essential for adults to find work, obtain citizenship, pass the GED, participate in their children's education, and become contributing members of their community.

You can make a difference! Become a volunteer tutor with the English At Large. We have more than 200 international adult learners waiting for tutors.

No previous experience is necessary. We will train you.  The orientation will be on November 1st from 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM.  The training will take place for six days for 2.5 hours each day (15 hours total) on:  November 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, December 6th and 7th.  Attendance at all sessions is mandatory.
