The Friends of Cary Library, Lexington, will hold its 22nd Annual Meeting on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at 2:00 p.m.in the Lower Level Meeting Room at the library. Our speaker is Linda Carroll, Cary Library reference librarian. She will tell us about the library’s Worthen Collection. Donated to Cary Library by Edwin B. Worthen, Sr. (1899-1956), it includes lanternslides, photographs, maps, objects, and manuscript materials documenting life in Lexington during the mid-19th to mid-20th centuries. . The collection was not completely catalogued until now. We invite the public to come and learn about this important archive which chronicles life in Lexington well after the Revolutionary War era!
