This session is all about efficient grant writing and how to make the most of the proposals you write. First, we’ll look at the broad concepts of grant writing – what to do and what not to do in terms of background, writing style, timing, etc. Then we’ll take an in-depth look at each of the proposal’s sections with an eye toward creating content that puts your agency in the best light. You’ll come away with ideas about how to approach funders via grant proposals, what makes a proposal readable and effective, what reviewers look for, resources to use, and pitfalls to avoid.
Hillel Bromberg has been researching funders and writing proposals for almost 15 years. He has worked with clients in social services, homelessness, the arts, and higher education, seeking for each the types of funders and grants that help them carry out their missions.
