Lexington Community Education presents: An Evening with Jean Kilbourne: Deadly Persuasion: What Advertisers Really Sell our Kids

More than ever before, our children and teens are under assault by advertisers. The average young person in the United States is exposed to over 3000 advertisements each day, many of which convey strong messages about success, popularity and self-worth. These carefully crafted messages can often shape our children's values, too often undermining what parents try to teach them about life, love, character and relationships. Don't miss this chance to hear Jean Kilbourne, a legendary pioneer in understanding the effects of advertising, as she explores the damage caused by pervasive, persuasive advertising on the hearts and minds of our young people. Her presentation is guaranteed to be fascinating, fast-paced and funny. Wednesday, November 17, from 7:00-8:30pm at Lexington High School. Cost: $10 per person. To register please call Lexington Community Education at 781 862 8043.
