The theme for this year's Lexington Reads is " Let Nature Be our Teacher." One way to experience nature is to participate in the fun and and fascinating new sport of geocaching.
Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers. It is an outdoor activity combining hiking, exploring, and using a hand-held Global Positioning System (GPS) to locate the treasure (caches).
At this workshop, Paul Gillin author of The Joy of Geocaching will teach you everything you need to know about this exciting way to go treasure hunting ... from simple caches such as containers with a piece of paper you sign, to more complex caches involving research, puzzles, and libraries. Signed copies of The Joy of Geocaching will be available for sale following the program.
