Living to 100: Lessons in Living to Your Maximum Potential with Dr. Thomas Perls

On Sunday, Nov 14, at 2:00 p.m. Cary Memorial Library will be presenting the fifth and final program in its Health and Wellness Series.

Dr Thomas Perls, one of the world's foremost experts on aging, will  present "Living to 100: Lessons in Living to Your Maximum Potential."   Dr. Perls specializes in the unique study of centenarians--- people who live to be 100 years old or older.  He is the founder and Director of the New England Centenarian Study, which has documented the long and exceptionally healthy lives of these remarkable human beings.

Currently a geriatrician at Boston Medical Center and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine, Dr. Perls is the author of the book, Living to 100 and established the website Livingto100.com,  which gets over 5,000 visits a day.  In his talk, Dr Perls will discuss why centenarians have such long and healthy lives, how his most current research may affect our future, and what those who have lived the longest have to teach the rest of us!

Dr. Perls has appeared on The Today Show, Oprah!, Dateline, Good Morning America, the national nightly news broadcasts, and National Public Radio. Articles about his work have recently appeared in USA Today, The New York Times and on the front page of the Boston Globe. ( July 2, 2010)

Because of the expected size of the crowd, this program will NOT  be held at  Cary Library. This special event will take place at  CARY HALL, 1605 Massachusetts Avenue in. Lexington.   Cary Hall is a very large venue so there will be plenty of seats.  The program is  free, and open to all.
