Lexington resident Maureen Bovet will be your guide for a royal tour of London's magnificent Chelsea Flower Show, perhaps the most famous gardening event in the world. Stroll with her through prize-winning gardens and glorious displays of new plants and flowers.
As a bonus, you'll also tour the nearby walled Chelsea Physic Garden, opened in 1673. This talk and photo show will bring you as close to the gardens of London as you can hope for without actually being there!
Maureen Bovet has a unique background in horticulture. She has led garden tours for the Paris Garden Guild, propagated plants for Historic New England, and designed the Memorial Garden at the First Parish Church in Lexington. A graduate of Wellesley College, she has also studied at the Arnold Arboretum Landscape Institute and the University of Massachusetts Green School.
Maureen is a charming tour guide, whose previous program at Cary Library (in June 2009) took us on a visit to the "Gardens of Paris." Cary Library is pleased to welcome her back; we hope you can join us for another delightful evening.
