Daphne Kalotay has recently published her first novel, Russian Winter, to rave reviews. Book clubs are snapping up this title of a former Bolshoi ballerina who, upon auctioning off her jewelry collection, becomes overwhelmed by memories of her homeland, the friends she left behind amidst Stalinist aggression, and the dark secret that brought her to a new life in Boston.
