“THINK ABOUT IT…IS IT WORTH THE RISK?”

Sponsored by the LPS PE and Wellness Department and LHS SADD Club

(Students Against Destructive Decisions)

Teenagers are involved in 3 times as many fatal crashes as all other drivers.  The high crash-involvement rate for teens is caused primarily by their lack of maturity and driving experience coupled with their overconfidence and risk-taking behaviors, including: failure to wear safety belts, speeding, impaired and distracted driving.

The LHS SADD club is hosting a presentation, “A Promise To Adam”, featuring Adam London’s mother and close high school friends.  Adam London was just 17 when he died, the night of August 23, 2010.  He was two weeks shy of beginning his senior year at Newton North High School. The presentation and slide show will be followed by a panel of LHS students discussing the issues affecting Lexington teens and what parents can do to keep their children safe through the teen years. Please join us to hear Adam’s powerful story.

Parents and students are encouraged to attend.
