NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Central Middlesex is sponsoring a free educational program for veterans, their families, NAMI members, and the general public at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 15th at Elm Brook Place, 124 South Road, Bedford.
Over the past several years a steady transformation of mental health recovery has rippled throughout the Veterans Health Administration. As an essential component of mental health recovery, peer support has found a new home at VA medical centers around the country, including the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial VA Medical Center in Bedford, MA.
Dr. Kevin Henze, PhD, CPRP, Director of Empowerment and Peer Services Center at the Bedford VA and Albert Krull, CPS will be the guest speakers. They will be explaining the positive effects of peer-support programs in the Veterans Health Administration and at the Bedford VAMC in particular.
