The next program of the Lexington Veterans' Association will be held on Monday, November 8, 2010, at 1:15 P.M., at Cary Memorial Library (Meeting Room), at 1874 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington Center. The program entitled, "Flying the U-2", will be presented by Captain Don Wright, USAF.
Captain Wright graduated from Wentworth Institute in 1955. He joined the Air Force soon afterwards, starting as an enlisted mechanic for three years, then as part of the Aviation Cadets to become a fighter pilot flying the F86-L. Later he became an instructor pilot, and after accumulating many flying hours was invited to become a U-2A Pilot, flying the single engine, single seat, high altitude (70,000 feet-plus) spy plane. He left the Air Force in 1966 to become a pilot for American Airlines, having a fruitful 28-year career. He had an amusing and varied life, and eight years ago began the book, "Life is a Piece of Cake", which was published in 2009.
Please join us for this Program, as all are welcome. Coffee is generously provided by Starbucks (Lexington Center, Scott LeBlanc, Manager).
