World War II Veterans of the Lexington Council on Aging

This month's program is “World War I: The Final Year of Conflict and the Devastating Impact of the Great War on the European Civilization,' presented by Dan Leclerc.

Dan is a career educator who worked as a high school history teacher for 20 years and as a central office administrator for another 20 years, retiring as  Assistant Superintendent of Schools in the Ashland, MA public school system. He was a 2nd Lt. in the Massachusetts National Guard for 6 years in the late 1960’s. He was trained in artillery school at Fort Sill, OK. Where he resides in Belmont, MA, Dan has served as a member of the School Committee and the Board of Selectmen, and is currently the Vice-President of the Belmont Historical Society and a board member of the Council of Aging. He continues his interest in the history of the Western Front from 1914-1918, and has traveled to France four times to visit various World War I Western Front battle sites.
