Every December Lexington's Follen Church (Unitarian Universalist) sells Christmas trees to honor its founder, Charles Follen, one of the first people to bring the tradition here from his native Germany, in the 1830s.
This year, Follen will donate 30 free trees to Lexington families in need. Families should contact Kristie Demirev, the social worker for the Town of Lexington Youth and Family Services (781) 698-4843. She can give eligible families a coupon they can bring to the Follen tree lot. Merry Christmas!
