Hancock Concert Series Presents:

Hancock Chancel Choir and Cantata Orchestra Morten Lauridsen: Lux Aeterna Vivaldi: Spring from the Four Seasons Sunday, May 15th at 9:45am

Hancock's Chancel Choir will be accompanied by our 23 piece, professional Cantata Orchestra in Morten Lauridsen's stunningly beautiful work Lux Aeterna. One of the most popular choral works of the past 20 years, this Grammy award winning piece is alternately reflective, soaring, and joyous as it celebrates those that have gone on before us and will be woven through the service. "This is truly one of the most astonishingly beautiful works I've ever come across", says Director of Music Mark Morgan, "and we can't wait to share it with everyone in worship. It's a perfect match for our celebration of the Hancock saints." To kick off the morning, the orchestra will play Vivaldi's effervescent evocation of Spring in his Spring concerto from The Four Seasons starting at 9:45. Aija Reke from the Theia Piano Trio will be featured as soloist. All are welcome to this service regardless of denomination, faith or lack thereof. You are more than welcome to come and just enjoy the music!
