Have you witnessed a life-threatening event?

Participate in McLean research study

If you have experienced or witnessed an event that was very frightening or traumatic, such as an assault or mugging, a shooting, a house fire, a car accident, or sudden and unexpected serious injury or death, you may be eligible to participate in a research study at McLean Hospital in Belmont, MA.

What’s Involved

  • 2 or 3 visits to McLean Hospital (total 6-8 hours)
  • Computer testing and questionnaires
  • Psychiatric interview
  • Brain scanning using magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy

Who Can Participate

  • Right-handed healthy individuals between the ages of 20 and 50
  • No history of head injury or neurological illness
  • Able to read and speak English fluently
  • No pacemakers, aneurysm clips, or other metallic objects in the head and upper body

Participants will be paid up to $200 for their time
