If you have experienced or witnessed an event that was very frightening or traumatic, such as an assault or mugging, a shooting, a house fire, a car accident, or sudden and unexpected serious injury or death, you may be eligible to participate in a research study at McLean Hospital in Belmont, MA.
What’s Involved
- 2 or 3 visits to McLean Hospital (total 6-8 hours)
- Computer testing and questionnaires
- Psychiatric interview
- Brain scanning using magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy
Who Can Participate

- Right-handed healthy individuals between the ages of 20 and 50
- No history of head injury or neurological illness
- Able to read and speak English fluently
- No pacemakers, aneurysm clips, or other metallic objects in the head and upper body
Participants will be paid up to $200 for their time
