How well have you been loving yourself lately?

As a mother, you are the care taker that might often forget to take care of the most important person – YOU!

Self-care encompasses every part of who you are – emotionally, physically and spiritually.

It’s about taking yourself off the back burner and paying attention to what you want out of your life.

It’s about loving yourself as much as you love your children.

Do this and you’ll be calmer, healthier and a whole lot happier.

You’ll start feeling like you again.

It’s like magic.

When you start taking better care of yourself, all of the other parts of your life fall into place a little easier. When you are thriving, your family is thriving.

Here are 5 steps to get you going on your self-care makeover:

Step 1. Shift Your Priorities

Take a hard look at where you are spending your time during the day. List out your top 5 priorities, this is where you should be spending your time. If you are not on that list re-do it and put YOU at the top!

Step 2. Learn to Say No

Stop over committing. Go through each commitment and notice how your body reacts. If you react with a negative feeling drop that commitment like a hot potato. If it’s something you really can’t let go of try shifting your perspective or somehow change your level of involvement.

Step 3. Enlist Help

Delegate, ask for help or hire help. Realize that we all need support and superwoman is a fictional character.

Step 4. Re-discover what fills you up

Once you’ve done the above spend your free time discovering what makes you happy and relaxed. Make it a point to bring those things back into your every day life.

Step 5. Watch the magic happen.
