ICYMI: Lexington Among America's 10 Safest Cities in 2017
Neighborhood Scout recently ranked Lexington as one of the safest cities in the state and the nation.

LEXINGTON, MA — Lexington nabbed a coveted top-10 spot in Neighborhood Scout's ranking of the 100 Safest Cities in America for 2017.
According to Neighborhood Scout's data, there are 0.57 violent crimes per 1,000 residents annually in Lexington, and 4.58 property crimes per 1,000 residents. Both figures are significantly lower than the violent and property crime rates nationally and statewide.
Neighborhood Scout reported that you have a 1 in 1,758 chance of falling victim to a violent crime in Lexington, and a 1 in 218 chance of becoming a victim of property crime.

Lexington was the second-safest community in Massachusetts, ranking 8th nationally behind Franklin at No. 4.
Neighborhood Scout's data ranks the 100 safest cities in America with 25,000 or more people. The rankings are based on the total number of property and violent crimes per 1,000 residents.
