Infographic: Could You Survive Without a Car in Lexington?

Lexington, MA—Few people would mind never having to pay upwards of $60 to fill up their gas tank, but we all know that is not a possibility in many communities.

Particularly in Lexington, where many residents may find themselves hopping in the car to complete the most necessary tasks. What would happen if you didn't have a car? Would you be able to survive without one?

FindTheHome.com attempted to tackle that question. The real estate listing and research website issued a "WalkIQ" walkability score for every city and town in Middlesex County. The WalkIQ is a relative score measured by finding the number of stores, amenities, points of interest and parks that are within walking distance for the median home in each community

Communities were given a score between 0 and 100. Lexington's zip codes received a score of received a "WalkIQ" of 65 and 61, which is on the higher end of the spectrum in the county. Neighboring communities such as Arlington (88,82) scored much higher, but communities such as Bedford scored much lower (43).
