Join Minuteman to Learn about Religion as a Reason for the Revolutionary War

We will meet on Tuesday, October 14!

Register today for Religion as a Reason for the Revolutionary War on Tuesday, October 14 at 7:00 pm.

This course will familiarize you with local and Boston churches (revolutionary war era) and you will learn of the roles of the pastors before and during conflict. While the British government was planning to control the citizens of Massachusetts Bay Colony with new taxes and Anglican theological rule, the Congregationalists and Presbyterians opposed this control on religious grounds. We will highlight some of the major players and events on both sides during this course.

The instructor has been an historical reenactor of the revolutionary war since 2000. He is a member of the Lincoln Minute Men and a volunteer in the Minute Man National Historical Park. He also participates in the Boston Massacre and Boston Tea Party reenactments. He has researched the churches of the four local towns (Lexington, Concord, Bedford, and Lincoln) and tells of their role in the early days of the revolutionary war.
