Lahey Health 5K Cancer Walk and Run Saturday, June 7

The 2014 Lahey Health 5K Cancer Walk & Run is set for Saturday, June 7 in two locations - Burlington and Peabody. The annual event is celebrating its ninth year in Burlington and its fifth in Peabody.

The event is a fundraiser that benefits a full range of cancer services available at Lahey Health locations in Burlington, Peabody, Beverly and Gloucester. All funds raised help Lahey Health offer advanced cancer therapies, supply supportive services such as Reiki and massage, as well as provide comfortable spaces for Lahey Health’s patients and their families. This year’s fundraising goal is $290,000.

Schedule and Registration Details:

• Burlington - Run registration opens at 7 a.m.; race starts at 8 a.m.
• Burlington - Walk registration opens at 8 a.m.; walk begins at 9:30 a.m.
• Peabody - Walk registration opens at 8 a.m.; walk begins at 9 a.m.
• Opening Ceremony takes place at both locations at 9 a.m.

Sponsored by Salter Healthcare, those participating in the event will enjoy entertainment, children’s activities and educational displays. Participants will also hear inspiring stories from cancer survivors.

Participants are eligible for a variety of incentives and prize, as they support enhancing cancer services in the community.
