Lane Closures Announced for Route 2, Crosby's Corner Reconstruction

The lane closures are set to begin Sunday.

MassDOT has announced lane closures for the Rte. 2, Crosby’s Corner Reconstruction Project beginning on Sunday, Aug. 21.

From Aug. 21 to Sept. 3, daily lane closures will occur along the eastbound side of Route 2 between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m..

On the westbound side, lane closures will occur from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m..

All scheduled work could be delayed or extended due to inclement weather.

The closures will allow the contractor to begin construction at the end of the old Cambridge Turnpike and pour cement on Mary’s Way. Drainage work is also scheduled for nearby service roads and Rte. 2

There will be no lane closures from 12 p.m. on Friday, September 2 through 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6 due to the Labor Day holiday.

The work is part of the $42 million project to reconstruct the section of Route 2 from Bedford Road to Sandy Pond Road, including a grade separated interchange at Crosby’s Corner.
