Join us March 5 at 2:00 PM for the lecture “Midnight Ride, Industrial Dawn: Paul Revere’s Evolution from Craftsman to Innovative Entrepreneur” by Robert Martello, Professor of the History of Science and Technology at Olin College of Engineering.
Everyone knows of Paul Revere’s midnight ride, but in this lecture Dr. Martello, will explore Revere’s role as an entrepreneur and craftsman. In the aftermath of the revolution, Revere undertook financial risk and introduced technological innovations which put him at the forefront of the new American economy. In thista Professor Martello will discuss how Revere transitioned from a colonial artisan to a business-minded manufacturer during the years of the early republic. A book signing will follow.
