From the narrative provided by the team:
The team “Lex Blue," a reference to their jersey color, faced rival Belmont in the opener of the Championship tournament. Having lost to the same team just a week earlier, Lex Blue looked to set the pace from the start and maintained a narrow margin throughout most of the game. In the final minutes, Lex Blue broke away from the stubborn Belmont team to complete a convincing 38-31 win.

A very different storyline emerged in the Finals. A gritty and defensive-minded Medford squad closed down Lex Blue’s offensive attack holding them scoreless for the first several minutes of the game. Challenged also by early foul trouble, Lex Blue relied on defensive intensity to keep the game close but remained down by two points at half-time.
A Championship in sight as they entered the second-half, Lex Blue’s offense finally found its way. A solid combination of fast breaks and well-executed offensive sets resulted in 21-second half points; and as the final horn blew, Lex Blue celebrated a 32-28 victory and the right to call themselves “Champions”.
Lex Blue will finish out their successful season at the Shamrock Youth Basketball Tournament in Billerica. The Middlesex Championship Trophy will be deposited in the Lexington High School trophy cabinet for all to share.
