Lexington Bike Walk 'n Bus Week

The Lexington Board of Selectmen have
proclaimed Friday, May 9 through Sunday, May 18 Lexington’s second annual “Bike Walk ‘n Bus Week” to promote
healthy and sustainable transportation options.
During the 10-day period, which coincides with Bay State Bike Week, a
variety of activities are being planned to celebrate the many alternative
transportation resources available in town.
New events this year include a “Silver Sneakers” walk for seniors; an
early morning “Commuter Breakfast” at the Lexington Depot for everyone walking,
biking, or taking transit to work or school, followed by a historic walk
leaving from the Depot; a “Bike to the BBQ” bike corral; a walk on the newest
ACROSS Lexington route; and a women’s bike ride geared toward building riding
confidence.  Lexpress will be free for a
day during BWB Week.   Look for these and
other activities in the schedule posted at http://lexbikewalkbusweek.org

Bike Walk ‘n Bus Week events are being
organized by the Lexington Bicycle Advisory, Greenways Corridor, and Safe
Routes to School Committees in conjunction with Town staff.
