LEXINGTON COMMUNITY EDUCATION presents Universal Design for the Home
Explore the benefits of Universal Design, with George Little, practicing architect and interior designer.
Do you have an older or handicapped loved one living at home, but in need of better accessibility? Are the kitchen counters too high, doors difficult to open, hallways too narrow, or the house just difficult to access without a ramp? More and more accidents in the home can be prevented with modifications to the home. Many of today’s retirees are choosing the high cost of a retirement home, just because their own homes are not properly designed for them!
This two session class (meeting November 23 and December 7) will be structured to educate homeowners about existing challenges, and offer real solutions, with estimated costs for repairs and modifications. Tops include Bathroom and kitchens and participants are encouraged to bring information about their own homes for in-class analysis.
The class will meet on November 23 and December 7 from 6:30-9:00pm at Lexington High School. The cost is $55/Seniors $44.
