Lexington Coronavirus: Over 100 Confirmed Cases

Here are the latest updates about the coronavirus in Lexington.

LEXINGTON, MA — Lexington has 151 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in town, as of Wednesday. Lexington said it is seeing an increase in the number of cases due to increased testing capacity at our long term care facilities thanks to the help of the Massachusetts National Guard.

The town will not be posting the number of cases coming from Long Term Care Facilities, "Out of respect, and for the privacy of, residents and staff at these facilities."

The town has closed all playing fields, courts and parks. Lexington's Annual Town Meeting was postponed until May 13.

The total number of cases in the state is 28,163. Gov. Charlie Baker said on Tuesday, about half the state's nearly 16,000 hospital beds are available for patients suffering from COVID-19.
