Lexington Fire Department Past And Present; Department Shares Photos From 1921 And 2021
A century later Chief Sencabaugh, the Department's 13th Fire Chief, recreated the photo in front of the Battle Green in May 2021.

In May 1921, Chief Taylor of the Lexington Fire Department (LFD) took the Department photo in front of the Battle Green, showcasing their equipment, trucks, and staff. Chief Taylor was the Department's first-ever Fire Chief. A century later Chief Sencabaugh, the Department's 13th Fire Chief, recreated the photo in front of the Battle Green in May 2021.

The names of the members of LFD from both 1921 and 2021, as well as both photos, are currently on display in the Memorial Room of the main lobby in the new Fire Department Headquarters at 45 Bedford Street.
