Lexington Gas Prices Drop Ahead of Fourth of July Weekend

Good news for those planning to drive this Fourth of July weekend—gas prices just dropped for the first time since mid-May.

Also: Massachusetts gas prices for the holiday weekend are at their lowest levels in five years.

AAA said Monday the average price of gas in the Bay State is $2.74—2 cents lower than last week. The national average is $2.78

Cumberland Farms on Marrett Road on Monday had the lowest price in Lexington at $2.75.

At this time a year ago, gas averaged $3.70 in Massachusetts.
