Lexington Man Indicted For 73 Counts Of Illegal Gun Possession

The Middlesex DA's office on Thursday announced indictments handed down between April 24 and May 29.

LEXINGTON, MA – Two cases with ties to Lexington are among the latest round of indictments in Middlesex County. District Attorney Marian Ryan on Monday announced indictments handed down between April 24 and May 29.

Both cases involve Lexington residents who face weapons charges.

Robert Ivarson, 50, of Lexington, was charged with possession of a large capacity firearm (10 counts), possession of an assault weapon (10 counts), possession of a large capacity feeding device (10 counts), possession of a firearm without a license (73 counts), and being an armed career criminal. The Assistant District Attorney is Nils Lundblad.

Ivarson was arrested last year after police seized dozens of guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition during an investigation into allegations that Ivarson racially harassed his black neighbors.

Raphael Ortiz, 54, of Lexington, was charged with possession of a large capacity weapon, possession of a large capacity feeding device, improper storage of a large capacity weapon, improper storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm without a license, and possession of ammunition. The Assistant District Attorney is Mary F.P. O’Neill.
