LEXINGTON, MA — The Town of Lexington is offering an entry-level firefighter and paramedics exam on Oct. 1. Here are the details, according to the Town website.

- MA registered EMT-Paramedic (at time of hire)*
- Valid class D driver's license
*Please note: Individuals who have not yet obtained EMT-Paramedic certification may take the exam, however, only those with an EMT-Paramedic certification will be hired.
Candidates with MA Firefighter I & II certification given preference
Present starting wage is $54,525, including EMT-P stipend.
As a condition of employment, candidates will be subject to a background investigation, psychological exam, preemployment physical including drug screen and a physical abilities test (PAT).
The Lexington Fire Department is a progressive full-time professional department that provides traditional fire services as well as supplying hazardous materials control, operating an advanced life support/EMS system, and providing community-based fire prevention activities.
To register for the exam, please send, by September 9, 2016:
- a completed Town application form
- a check made out to the "Town of Lexington" for $100.00

Applicants are only eligible after they complete the REQUIRED application form and return it with their check prior to the stated deadline. Late applications or applications without a check will not be accepted.
