Lexington Officials to Explore Grove Street Purchase: Report

Residents have opposed a developer's attempts to build on a large parcel of land on Grove Street, according to a Lexington Minuteman report.

LEXINGTON, MA—Lexington officials have indicated that they will explore the purchase of a parcel of land on 227 Grove Street, reports the Lexington Minuteman.

According to the report, Town Manager Carl Valente at Thursday indicated at Thursday night's Board of Selectmen's meeting that John Farrington, representing potential developer Ron Lopez, would "potentially be amendable to the option of selling the land to the town." The report indicates that the land is under a purchase and sale agreement with Lopez for an undisclosed price.

The report also indicates that Lopez has attempted to purchase the 12.4-acre site and build 36 units in 19 buildings.
