Lexington Public Schools Ranked Among Nation's Best Districts

Rankings released Tuesday by Niche have Lexington Public Schools ranked high among the nation's top school districts.

LEXINGTON, MA — Lexington Public Schools continually ranks among one of the Commonwealth's top school districts, but new rankings released Monday indicate further that LPS is among one of the nation's top school districts.

According to Niche's latest rankings, Lexington Public Schools was ranked as the nation's ninth-best school district. The district was also rated as the top public school district in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The district received an overall Niche grade of A+, with A+ grades in academics, teachers, clubs and activities, college readiness as well as health and safety. You can view Lexington's full scores here.

According to Niche, LPS has an average graduation rate of 95 percent, an average SAT of 1370 and an average ACT score of 31.

The district was edged out by Lower Merion School District in Ardmore, PA; New Trier Township High School District No. 203 in Northfield, IL; Princeton Public Schools in Princeton, NJ; and Great Neck Public Schools in Great Neck, NY. Lower Merion High School is also the alma mater of NBA star Kobe Bryant.

Tredyffrin-Easttown School District in Wayne, PA, was ranked as the nation's top school district.

According to Niche.com, the ranking is “based on statistics, student and parent reviews, and expert insights. Ranking factors include SAT/ACT scores, the quality of colleges that students consider, student-teacher ratio, student and parent reviews, and more.”
