Lexington Symphony Presents "Music from the Movies"

This special performance will feature some of the greatest music ever written for the big screen.

On Saturday, May 14 at 8:00 p.m., Lexington Symphony will take the stage at Cary Hall (1605 Massachusetts Avenue) in Lexington to present its popular "Music from the Movies" concert. Exploring the vital role that music plays in setting the scene and telling a story via the medium of film, this special performance will feature some of the best film scores ever written for the big screen, including Suite from Jaws, The Raider's March (The Indiana Jones theme), Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Schindler's List Suite by John Williams; Alan Silvestri's Back to the Future; and Vangelis Papathanassiou's Chariots of Fire, among others.

A pre-concert Conductor's Talk with Music Director Jonathan McPhee titled "Imagine Movies Without Music" will be offered at 7:00 p.m. Tickets —which are priced at $50/$40/$30; students $15 — are available online at lexingtonsymphony.org, by phone at 781-523-9009, or at the door at Cary Hall (based on availability).

The Symphony's free, family-friendly Community Music Festival will precede the concert at Cary Hall from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Tickets are not required for the festival.
