Lexington Town Meeting Approves Visitors' Center Funding

The new space will accommodate over 120,000 visitors annually.

LEXINGTON, MA – The Lexington Town Meeting this week approved a funding package for a new town visitors' center. Town meeting members voted 124-30-12 to approve $4,575,000 in funding, according to the Lexington Minuteman.

The center will accommodate over 120,000 visitors per year and include larger exhibition space on the Battle of Lexington and the American Revolution, the architect behind the project told the Minuteman. It will also feature an entrance from the Minuteman Bikeway and outdoor exhibits about the path and naval vessels named USS Lexington.

Yearly visitors have nearly tripled over the building's 52 years of operation, necessitating a larger space.
