Members of the Fire and Police Departments were honored to be invited to attend his celebration.
He is a 50+ year involved resident of the town and a highly decorated veteran of the Green Berets. During the celebration he was presented with an award from the Green Berets citing:

- his combat service in three wars
- 7 purple hearts
- completing over 300 parachute jumps
It was truly an honor for all of us to be invited and be around such an extraordinary person!
