Lincoln St. Under I-95 to Close Overnight Tuesday

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is also warning of overnight noise.

LEXINGTON, MA—Lane closures and detours will be in effect from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m, with alternating lanes of travel being maintained during the daytime.

According to a Town of Lexington announcement, one alternating lane of travel will be maintained. In addition, the night time demolition work will be loud.

The work will allow a contractor to replace the median barrier of the I-95 bridges over Lincoln St. Police details will be present to direct traffic.

Loud noises will be due to demolishing the existing concrete bridge. According to the announcement, the night time is the only time multiple lanes on I-95 can be closed to access the work due to traffic restraints.

  • Traffic destined for Lincoln Street west of I-95 - From Middle Street/Lincoln Street take a left on Weston Street, turn left on Shade Street, turn right on Spring Street, turn left on Hayden Avenue, take a right onto the Route 2 West on-ramp, follow Route 2 West, cross over I-95, turn right on Lexington Road, and turn right on Lincoln Street.
  • Traffic destined for Lincoln Street east of I-95 – From Lincoln Street, turn right on Mill Street, turn right on Route 2A East/North Great Road, which becomes Route 2A East/Marrett Road, cross over I-95, and turn right on Lincoln Street.
