Local Supermarket Recalls Coffeecake
The item was sold in the store between Friday, Sept. 19 and Thursday, Sept. 25.

The Bedford Whole Foods Market is recalling Plain Streusel Coffeecake because of an undeclared tree nut allergen. The product has a “Sell By” date between Sept. 19 and Sept. 30, 2014, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
“The coffee cake contained pecans as an ingredient. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to tree nuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” said the FDA.
The item was sold in the store between Friday, Sept. 19 and Thursday, Sept. 25. The store has posted signs notifying customers of the recall and have removed the product from the shelves.

There have been no allergic reactions or illnesses reported.
Consumers who have purchased this product from Whole Foods Market Bedford may bring their receipt to the store for a full refund. Consumers with questions should contact their local store or call 617-492-5500 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
