One inch of snow was enough to cause an hour-long delay for most Logan flights Tuesday.

BOSTON, MA — One inch of snow was enough to cause an hour-long delay for most flights at Logan Airport Tuesday morning.

Flights were delayed by an average of 56 minutes. Arrivals were delayed by about 15 minutes.

About 1 inch of snow fell on the airport by Tuesday at noon.

Logan officials said there were nearly two-hour departure delays out of Newark International Airport. There were about 30-minute delays out of Philadelphia International Airport.

The snow changed over to sleet by about noon. The wintry mix will last through the evening commute. It was the region’s first major snowstorm of the winter.
